Trim The Tree Thursday

Today for Trim the Tree Thursday I thought that I would share my Christmas dishes.

I usually get them out the day before or after Thanksgiving. Just because there are so many and I want to be able to enjoy them as much as possible.
This is my biggest collection of dishes. I have been collecting them for over 15 years. My aunts have been contribution to this dish addiction every Christmas. Now... I have a service for 16! I Love it! I hope on Tablescape Tuesday I will have one of my Christmas tables to share.

Thank you Brett for hosting this great get together every week!

If you would like to see more beautiful Christmas posts go to the Southern Hostess (with the mostest) : )

Table Scape Tuesday! Number 5!

Please join me for yet another episode of TABLE SCAPE TUESDAY! Hosted by non other than Susan. Her blog (Between Naps on the Porch) provides a plethora of not only her beautiful tablescapes but a long list of other lovely bloggers sharing their ideas. Go by and visit!

Today I am sharing my Blue and White table from Thanksgiving . You can click on any of the pictures to enlarge them and get more detail.

This table is the bargain table... really! Almost everything was a bargain.

Table clothe... A navy queen size sheet. I wanted a plan smooth navy tablecloth, but couldn't find one. So I just bought a plan basic sheet.

The dishes are Johnson Bros. These are on sale all the time at TJ Max. The bowls are old Princess House.

The water goblets are from my mom. They were a wedding present 50 years ago. I have no idea what the brand is but they are very heavy.

Thanks for stopping by!

Trim The Tree Thursday

It is Trim The Tree Thursday again and Today I am going to show you my blue and white family room. This is the most lived in room in the house. The cats sleep on the furniture and under the tree! : )

If you want to see an incredible victorian home (along with many other participants) zip on over and say hi to Brett at Southern Hostess. It is well worth the click!

The big thing in our Family Room is the "White House Christmas Tree" . I started this tradition a few years ago because I had collected so many of the ornaments from the White House Historical Society. The are absolutely beautiful in their detail. I have given many of them away as gifts over the years. I also recently started the US Capitol ornaments too. There still isn't quite enough to fill a tree so I supplement with blue birds, and other blue and white ornaments.

These are some close ups... sorry! some of the close ups are a bit blurry... It is very difficult to get a close up with my camara.... However! I think that Santa is bringing me a new one.... I HOPE! I HOPE! I HOPE! Okay... I'm pretty sure... : )

If you are interested in the White House Ornaments or the US Capital Ornaments just click on the links for each.

Table Scape Tuesday! Forth for me!

It's Table Scape Tuesday and I am participating for the forth time!

We had 2 tables for Thanksgiving! I'm going to show the next one next week. This one is the brown table. Very traditional colors.

There are those little brown lanterns that I used on my fall tea table a month ago. I didn't get the Godiva chocolate turkeys this year... alas...they were $6 each. It just seemed extravagant. So each place had a little pumpkin truffle instead.

The amber water goblets and soup bowls came from Wall Mart. The bowls were on clearance the day before Thanksgiving for $1.50 each. Sweet! Did anybody else find that the Thanksgiving stuff cleared out fast?

The dishes are Antique Spode. The pattern is called Buttercup. They were my Great Aunts. I love it that she left them to me! I've been able to pick up pieces here and there.

Next week I will show you the Blue and White table that I did.

If you would like to see more incredible tables go to Susan's Blog, Between Naps on the Porch.

Christmas in the Kitchen

Yea! It's Christmas! It's Christmas! Brett at The Southern Hostess is having a trim a tree party every Thursday through December. Her Blog is full of really helpful ideas for party planning and holiday festivities. If you haven't seen her blog you should. It's worth the trip!

This is my little Kitchen. I try to stick to the Blue and White with only touches of red here and there. I am also setting a goal of not spending any money on new decorations.

Here's a cute little Santa made from wooden spoons. Clever! Huh? He hangs on the pantry door.

Fat little snowmen here and there... Did anyone else see Nikki's post on Snowmen at the
Scarlet Rose Garden? Way to funny!

Hey aren't we cute!?

Hope you enjoyed my tour! Come back next week for another room! Thanks for stopping by.
