Let's Play Miscellaneous Catch-up!

Hey Everyone,
Do you ever have one of those posts that you just have some stuff to say...
It isn't important...
Just things that you are behind on mentioning.

Well this is that post!

Several weeks ago I got to go to a sweet friend's birthday party.
Now, she is one of the most creative people I have ever met!
No seriously!

So I wanted to make her something fun, smart and different.
Just like her

This is what I came up with.

Needless to say, being the kind person she is,  the next time I saw her, she had it
on. And it really looked great darling on her

We were chatting and she said that I should make a few and put them on Etsy.
Then my daughter said " I told you mom! Those are really cute!"
And of course my husband who is always encourageing me said
"they are right! Just try it!"

 So! I did!

I also have some of these on there.
I think they would be darling on Christmas packages.
There are also some things that you can custom order as well.

Let me know what you think, please.

And finally...
Here are the Colors of the Week.
I got a little behind.

 Color of the Week #9

OPI - You don't  Know Jacques! (accent nail)

It's Fall.... Can You Tell?

You wouldn't know by our weather report!
100 degrees today. UGH!
I just keep telling my self that this weather is on it's way out...

Last week I got busy putting my fall decor out.

It might not be cool outside yet, but we inside,  are celebrating the change of seasons.

I'm giving you a quick little tour of the Family Room and the Living Room.

These little artificial pumpkins and goards were only .67 each at Wal Mart.
They really filled in my big glass cookie jar.

Don't these cute little guys look like they got caught stealing
my corn and acorns?

So that is fall around my house!

Is your fall decor out?

Lil' Boo Bear!

Warning! I'm tickeled with this little project!
I seriously can't believe I actually designed something....
Okay... "Design" is a loose term.

I had the privilege of being invited to baby shower for a sweet little baby boy last Saturday.
I wanted to make a sweet, very soft, but tough and squishy little bear that could survive
a little boy.
I think I met my goal.

I could not find a pattern that I liked but that was simple enough for even me.

So I looked at everything I could find and came up with this lil guy.

I hope I recorded all of my steps accurately... I really want to make a Lil' Pink Bear.

One of the other things that the hostess did, that I think was so smart, was that we were to bring
a book instead of a card! Isn't that cute?
Well, I thought to so.
I sent my hubs out to pick the perfect book for a little boy and this is what he came
home with.

Perfect!

Well, that is it for now.
We are getting all of the Fall decor out and preparing to celebrate
our family September Birthdays.

How do you feel about:
Loaded Potato Soup
Wilted Spinach Salad
Meatloaf
Fresh Green Beans

and for dessert?
Salted Caramel Brownies
(oh my)

As a side note: I would be thrilled if you took a look at my little etsy shop!
There are some great gift ideas and also some custom order items.

Time for Fresh-Cut Friday!

Hello my lovely friends and kindred spirits!
This month is the 200th anniversary of the original publication of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.  So in honor of this auspicious occasion, our book club has chosen to read the same.
So, in keeping with this same theme, I used my Jane Austen complete collection in my
Fresh-Cut Friday arrangement.

And while the flower of the month is the Aster.... I chose roses.

 I know... how predictable!

When you break it down, there are some common elements in all of Miss Austen's novels.
Gardening, Books, Tea and Pure Romance!
It just truely doesn't get any more feminine than a Jane Austen story.
So of course we love her!

“I sat three–quarters of an hour in the flower–garden, while Fanny cut the roses; and very pleasant it was, I assure you, but very hot.”  (Mansfield Park)

“And though the love of a hyacinth may be rather domestic, who can tell, the sentiment once raised, but you may in time come to love a rose” (Northanger Abbey)

It was a sweet view — sweet to the eye and the mind. English verdure, English culture, English comfort, seen under a sun bright, without being oppressive.  (Emma)

Make sure you take time to stop and smell the ROSES!

What's UP!

It feels like Monday... but it's really Tuesday.
The week is flying by!
I hope you had a great 3 day weekend!
Did you do anything fun?
We were very low-key here.
I watched this oldie....

The acting was okay... comedy was okay...
Sometimes I love to watch these old movies just for the style
factor. This one has tons!
Look at that living room!

What it's about...
When Mike Hagen and Marilla Brown marry after a whirlwind romance on the west coast, they return to New York to find that they don't have much in common. She is a clothing designer who lives in a swanky apartment and whose friends are actors, artists and the like. He is a sports writer who likes to go boxing matches and horse races. They clearly love one another and make every effort to be flexible. When a mobster, whom Mike has been accusing of fixing sports events, decides to go after him he must pretend to be out of town and mayhem ensues.

 Also saw this... FABULOUS!
Loved it!

  What it's about...
Following a mysterious explosion in a busy London market, the police swoop, a suspect is detained, and the country prepares for one of the most high-profile trials in British legal history. Two exceptional lawyers with a romantic history step into a dangerous web of secrets and lies, and when evidence points to a British Secret Service cover up, it's not just their reputations, but their lives that are at stake.

 Color of the Week #7

Here's my color of the week... Maria by Julep.... In person it looks like a foil. Very pretty!

Just a quick reminder... We'll have Fresh-Cut Friday this week. I will have the
linky tool set up and ready to go for Thursday night.

I hope you will join in!

That's it for now...
