So? 50!

Well! I'm 50 and still standing. LOL!
It has been a wonderful birthday week.
Lots and Lots of Happy Birthday wishes and
thoughtful gifts.  An old gal just couldn't ask for more.

(these are some sweet cupcakes that a friend made for me)

The weekend was full of fun stuff. Fun to me anyway.
Hubs got the back yard seeded for winter grass. We're crossing our
fingers and looking for green. Last years lawn was so gorgeous!
Maybe we will be blessed again.

I bought this home 9 years ago and every single window had plastic vertical blinds.
This weekend saw the joyous farewell of the last of those.

As the last set of wooden blinds were hung and the last of the loud, dirty, dated, plastic vertical blinds existed... I did a little happy dance singing .... Clackity Clack don't look back! See YA!
So happy about that little update!

He also hung my stained glass piece in the transom of our bedroom.  It looks so pretty and the colors are perfect.

I'll show you the whole hallway in
another post later.

Also got some Crochet work done.... Love these colors!
More of that later too...

Have Fun!

I'll be joining Marty for another Tabletop Tuesday.

And Big White...

As some of you sweet friends know... My birthday was this week. I'll be sharing more about that later...  But because my birthday is in October and my Sis-In-Law has her birthday in September we
celebrate together. So this Sunday evening was our family celebration.  I had started her gift a couple of months ago but I was so happy that I got it finished in time for our get-together! We also got her this sweet little compote. If you love milk glass you will LOVE this stuff.

If you want to know how I made her scarf, you can click here or on my Ravelry page button on my sidebar.

Don't forget next Friday is Fresh-Cut Friday!
Have a great WEEKEND!

Quick, Fun and Easy Centerpieces

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to help with a Fall Harvest Brunch.
The theme was to be hospitality and all its different forms.
So that included all different price ranges and budgets.

We had a lot of tables and as always a small budget and limited time frame.
So I fell back on one of my previous ideas that I had used at
Thanksgiving a couple of
years ago.
As with most things timing is everything. I was hoping to do fresh flowers, but Michale's had all the Autumn floral for 60% off and time was going to be short the day of the party.
So I opted for silks.
This is what the floor of my craft room looked like.
As always, I had the supervisory help
of my ever capable 3 legged kitty.... Midge.
Here are 6 cans that I did.
 Super fast
 Super simple!

Super cheap!

New Cafe au Lait Bowls

I think it is pretty well known that I have a hard time
passing up a good dish!

Last week I was browsing through Lidy's lovely online shop
She has the most amazing stuff! I wish I could redecorate my whole house using her antiques!

I saw this darling set of blue and white French Cafe au Lait Bowls.

They arrived within days of my order and were
beautifully packaged.

Love them!
Gotta go...  my props keep disappearing

Pocket Sermon

Taken from one of my favorite verses.

"Always be joyful, keep on praying. No matter what happens, always give thanks, for this is God's will for you who are in Christ-Jesus"
1 Thessalonians 5:16 NLT

Hope you are having a great week!

The Bell Jar

Hi my Pals!
I hope you are starting your week off with a smile.
I love a good Monday!
What about you?

I had an inspired moment last weekend and
moved all of my cloches into
one spot in the living room.
I like it.

I'm not going to lie...
I struggle getting the right vignette ...
Do you think they are challenging too?

I'm happy for now ... until I get bored with it.
But then it will be time for Christmas!

Today I'll be joining Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for one of her famous Cloche Parties.

Fall! Love it!

Hey everyone!
Are you all ready for Fall?

Every year Fall sneaks up on me and before
I know it, I'm in the heart of it.

Is that how it is for you too?

I always have big plans.... gardening, baking, entertaining.
And every year I'm going to slow down and enjoy the season.

In reality ... I can't do both can I?
Do more and get fun stuff done AND slow down and enjoy?
It's a choice.

So that is really the question...

 Slow down and enjoy?

or follow up on those big plans?

 It's time to decide....

Not really... I haven't decided yet. But hey! I have the Fall
Decor up and we are enjoying it. :)
I hope you are having a great week so far.

~Fresh-Cut Friday #27

Welcome!
Fall is here. FINALLY. We are below 100 degrees.
Now that deserves a party!

Let's get started.

I have already poured you a cup of tea.

Help yourself to a ginger snap cookie.

 And enjoy!

I don't know about you ... but I'm ready to slow down and enjoy some peace and quiet.

 What about you?
Go on....

 Have another cookie!

So now I want to come visit you!
Make sure you visit each other and be kind. Do the linky thing.
