Baby Spoons

A half price frame from Goodwill... $1.50...
A collection of family baby spoons... 3 generations to be exact...
An hour of going through my scrap-booking supplies and picking a theme...
And... TA DA!

My dad's little fork and spoon...

Us!
Here is the final product on the wall.

Button, Button, I have toooo MANY Buttons!

I was cleaning out a "supply box" in my office and came across all these old buttons!

So believe it or not I was actually sorting them... yes, yes I know!
As I age I think that I am exhibiting signs of OCD and ADD.

My hubby is a little concerned... to say the least...

Anyway... I was sorting away and looked over at my desk and the lighting was so perfect that I felt obligated to capture the moment. Is this a distraction?
Or just being creative and free spirited? LOL
Did I mention this was the Saturday that at one time I was washing, drying and folding laundry, cleaning the house, blogging, and sorting buttons?

The buttons still aren't sorted.... but the laundry and house are clean.

This is Sweet Daughter's high school picture. She has
decided to go on to law school in August.
I will miss her so much but I'm so proud of her.
Love you Big Girl!

The Soloist

Hi Guys! Just finished The Soloist by Steve Lopez. I loved the book. A very easy read that really gives you a good, realistic idea of the work and frustration family and friends experience when a loved one is diagnosed with schizophrenia. The story depicts the efforts that Steve Lopez goes to to help Mr. Ayers. It also really brings to light the plight of the homeless and mentally ill in California. There is no happy ending here. Just the story. The book is much, MUCH better than the movie. As much as I love Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Fox, the movie falls far short of telling the story that Mr. Lopez tells so well in his novel.

Kitty and Rose Vignettes

Just thought that I would show you my little bathroom shelf.

I don't know about you, but I find that I am really into shelves, nooks and crannies right now. I think that it is because they provide more opportunities for vignettes.
The Brighten picture frame is from my handsome older brother.
Thanks, Handsome!
Those aren't my relatives in there.... I just haven't found 2 photos that I love yet. But I will! I love their home accent items.

Awwwh....

Gourmet Burgers

The garden is going gang busters!
We have so many herbs that I am trying to come up with new ways to use them everyday.
I have been chopping them up and putting them on the burgers.

My fav so far is oregano with Swiss cheese.

Little Garden Apron

I've been spending some time in my garden... getting it all pretty.
Everything is growing.
So far.... so good! (fingers crossed)

I thought I would make myself a little garden apron.
Look at this pile of inspiration!
No! It isn't a mess! LOL!

I laid it all out with a rough plan...
It never turns out the way it starts.....

This is how it turned out. It was all bits and pieces.
Yet another little project to help use up all of those
scraps that you just can't throw away.

My new little garden sign. Isn't it cute?

Little doily flowers!

Not fancy but perfect for the garden!

I'm joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday.
Make sure you go by and see all the great projects!
