Monday's Manicure

Hello!
How ya doing?

Here's this week's manicure.

Let me just first say...

I am not a pink kind of girl.
I am a bling kind of girl!

I  don't typically wear pink ... ever.
But I had purchased this pink for a nude gradient a few weeks ago and some how
when I put it away it ended up next to my favorite glitter of all time Traffic Stopper Copper.

For some reason I thought they would look great together.
And they do.
Sadly... now I have a manicure that doesn't match anything in my closet.
Sigh... yes, I know...first world problems.

Sephora Traffic Stopper Copper
Cover Girl Outlast Bon Bon

And now for something totally random.

I received a sample of the Benefit mascara "they're Real!"
in my Birch Box. I don't normally share when I get it because
I rarely buy anything from the samples. I do, however, still
love getting them in the mail and trying things that I would never pay
for a full size just to try.  That being said, I just want to share that I feel I may
have found the Holy Grail of all mascaras. I love this stuff. I love the brush.
I love how it stays on all day. I love how it actually makes these 52 year old lashes look
full and long.  If you have tried this mascara, let me know. I would love to know
what you think.

If you don't like this brand, what brand do you like?

Bible Journal .... So I made a cover....

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you know that
I just got my sewing machine back from Mr Sew and Vac after
never having it serviced... in like 15 years.  I was so frustrated the last time I
made any thing, I was ready to through it out a moving truck.
But my friend Laura encouraged me to have it serviced before I
threw in the towel completely.  That was almost a year ago.
I'm so glad that I listened to her.

I just got it back and decided that a nice afternoon project was in order.  Nothing big...
"Let's set ourself up for success" I said to myself.

So I made a cover for my journal bible.
Mind you, my hubby carried this for a couple of years before I confiscated
inherited it.  SO, it was in need of some extra LOVE.

Here's the cover that I made. I'm pretty (really) happy with it.
I have a tutorial here for some bible covers that I had made
previously.  I also made a cover for a friend's NOOK... that post is here.
(just incase you want to see)

I added index tabs to the top of the bible.

I added scrapbooking paper to the inside as it was starting to look
a little tired. I also added extra book mark ribbon to match the paper.

I seriously couldn't wait to show it to you guys.

I'm chuckling because when I showed it to my husband, he kind of
started laughing and said " You know, this is SO incredibly excessive?"
I just smiled and said "I KNOW! Isn't it AWESOME?"

I did an entry a few weeks ago from 1Samual 16: 7

But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things human beings look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

GOD sees our full potential!
Meaning that in the right hands, something ordinary becomes EXTRA ordinary.

So, I'll leave you with that my peeps!
Have an AWESOME week!

Latte in the afternoon

Okay... So it's Saturday morning and you have a hankering for
a latte. Or maybe its Saturday afternoon and you want a yummy
rich coffee but your up to your elbows in a craft project?

The point is you don't feel like leaving the house to go wait
in line and drop a 5 spot for a coffee drink.

I have a good solution for you.

You can use regular coffee or instant.
It doesn't matter, both will work.

In the microwave heat up about 4 oz of half and half.
In my microwave one minute is perfect.

Whole milk and skim milk work to, but will not be as
rich tasting.

Now put a lid on and shake it vigorously for a count of 60.

Pour it in to your favorite mug and fill to the top
with coffee. Hint: I've been known to make my instant coffee
with only milk.

Disclaimer: this is what I do in my microwave and my mug...
All microwaves are different and of course the size of the mug would matter.
Play around with it and see what you come up with.
You can even go all crazy and get some of the flavor syrups that they have.

No, its not Starbuck's, but there is something to be said for
drinking a wonderful coffee, in your favorite mug, on your porch,
while the birds are chirping and before its 110 degrees out.

I'm just saying.
Have a great Saturday!

It's all the same....

Glad you stopped by!
I'm just hangin' in my little kitchen tonight.

I was looking at it and I realized that it is the same as it was
several years ago.
No changes... I mean at all!

We are using a bigger coffee maker.
Does that count as change... ?

I do have some thoughts...
Paint the cabinets, cream, I think.
And new counters.... Maybe Corian white-ish...
I'll have to check it out.

And an apron sink... yes!
That would suit me just fine!

The blue and white will stay... of course!

That's all, just thinking...

Have you all tried these little candles from Boulangerie?
Such unique fragrances.
I got mine at Anthropologie. I love how they look
like little antique marmalade jars.

It's supposed to be rainy and wonderful this weekend.
Maybe I'll get crochet out and work on it.... hmmmm.
Have a great Friday!

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion

Okay!
A cautionary note:
this book is not for kids or for a church book club.
(sigh and ugh)
Strong language and adult situations.

Putting that aside, I personally thought that this was a very funny,
quirky story. I can totally see it as a romantic comedy.

The main character has Aspergers syndrome ... but in true form... he doesn't
recognize his own social awkwardness.  So you can imagine, with a talented
writer, the comic situations that could occur.

From the back of the book:

The art of love is never a science: Meet Don Tillman, a brilliant yet socially inept professor of genetics, who's decided it's time he found a wife. In the orderly, evidence-based manner with which Don approaches all things, he designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sxteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers.
Rosie Jarman possesses all these qualities. Don easily disqualifies her as a candidate for The Wife Project (even if she is “quite intelligent for a barmaid”). But Don is intrigued by Rosie’s own quest to identify her biological father. When an unlikely relationship develops as they collaborate on The Father Project, Don is forced to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie―and the realization that, despite your best scientific efforts, you don’t find love, it finds you.

And finally, I just read that Jennifer Lawrence is set to play Rosie in the
upcoming movie project.  Should be a hit!

So let me know if you read it.
I'ld love to know your thoughts!
