Ladies Ministry Spring Tea and Luncheon

This is what I spent my Saturday doing.... Having tea with the ladies.... over 420 ladies that is...

The Spring Tea and Luncheon at North Phoenix Baptist Church has become such a huge event that even with over 420 ladies attending... We still had ladies on wait list. It is so much fun to be a host at this event.
As a Host you are responsible for decorating your table, and bringing whatever accessories you need. The church supplies the buffet (we have a full kitchen staff with chef) and the basics like lemon, sugar, salt and pepper, flatware, hot water, ice water, ice tea, and even cups and saucers if you need them. I know in blog land we can't imagine that, but not everyone has 10 cups and saucers, and the event is for everyone!
Friday night is set-up and then Saturday is Tea Time! There is usually an inspirational speaker. This year it was Pam Kanaly. She was awesome. She spoke about being a woman of influence and what your legacy will be. Your influence is your legacy and it is the only thing that we leave behind when we are gone. What is your influence?
Just look at all these tables. These ladies go all out. Every guest at this table got to take home a single tulip!
Hey! What's in the pink bags?
Don't you love these retro cups and saucers?

This gal drew inspiration from her Mother. Using pictures to tell how she had influenced her growing up.

Just had to have a close up of those roses!

This sweet lady made 5 of these gorgeous rose topiary trees.

Look closely at this table.... Yup! That's a fish tank with lilly pads all the way around it. But here's the kicker... the lilly pads were candles that the table guests got to take home!

How sweet is this precious tea set?

That isn't even half of the tables. I have saved several (including mine) to share with you on Tea Time Tuesdays. This is a new party that Barb at Grits and Glamour is starting on May 12th. For more information just click the logo and it will link right back to her beautiful blog. Make sure you check it out.

Oh Liz, I know first hand how much fun these teas are!! Our church does one each year, too. I was a hostess for several years, but didn't attend this year.

Those tables are awesome!! It's always so much fun to visit them all and see the neat tablescapes.

Can't wait to see yours!! Wish I had some pics of the ones I did...but I don't. WAHHHH!!

Hope you have a lovely week!!
Blessings,
Becky

Hi Liz, congrats on the wreath, you will not be disappointed, I still love mine and so does everyone else. You are lucky, you shouldn't have to wait very long for yours, I checked and no back orders as of last week. The day I ordered mine, I was told it was back ordered and then about 3 months later I got a date of Feb 09, no kidding, and it even took longer than that. You will also be impressed with how much care they take in insure it arrives safly and undamaged. QVC is the best and I always watch for Vallerie Par Hill do debut her new items each season. I always set the DVR for her.
Can't wait to see how you use it,
Shanda

Hi Liz...I didn't know you went to NPBC. Next year please let me know when the tickets go on sale. I would love to go.
Our church doesn't do a mother's day tea or lunch anymore and I miss it! Your event looks like it was a lot of fun!

Liz, I forgot to tell you what a wonderful delight it was to go to your tea party. How fun to have each table all decorated up.

About the gooseberry patch cookbooks. Check a site called Abe books. I was recommend to theor site by Vee from a haven for vee and it is a wonderful site too for used books. I noticed right away that the GB books were so much cheaper their, many for about 3.oo and up. Their listing are cheapest to most expensive and they have a ton of books. I think some of their stuff is cheaper than Amazon and they also buy your used books and will give you a quote for a sell price and they pay the shipping on sell books. I went there and I ordered about 10 Mary Engelbreiet books tonight, my husband is gonna kill me, I hope he isn't here when they arrive. Good thing they all come seperalty. I hope you like this site too.

Love the different tables! And so many people, how much fun is that?? We're having our annual Mother/Daughter Tea this Friday night and it's not nearly as big as your church, but still a nice event. I'm actually doing the cooking! Thanks for sharing all the beautiful pictures and giving me some ideas!!!
