Garden Chic

Saturday morning I had the pleasure of joining a group of Decorating Divas for an inspirational/how to seminar at a beautiful decorating center called Perfect Accent.

We received some wonderful ideas and tips from the owner Jo Hale (in red) and one of her talented partners Dee.

Here Dee is showing us how to use succulents in our garden. She is doing an arrangement in a wire basket. It came out so cute. It really is hard to get a low maintenance, charming, garden, look here in the desert. I am not a fan of cactus, but she gave us some really great ideas and not one of them included a prickly pair.

Dee has really great garden ideas. Here she is making a beautiful big wreath. I came home so inspired I cleaned up my little flower bed. I'll be showing you that in a week or so. I will also be using some more succulents in my garden. Some of them are just darling. Hens and Chicks, Blue rush, Elephant plants, Million bells and Ice Plants.

Before the seminar Jo allowed me to take some pictures so that I can give you a tour.

I made this for my friend that lives in Kansas City. Saturday was her birthday.

Sadly, it didn't arrive in this condition.

Tablescape Thursday With My Favorite Dishes

This is a casual tablescape incorporating my cow collection. My whole kitchen at one time was black and white cows. I eventually got so tired of it that I got rid of most of them and only kept the most sentimental gifts and really cute stuff.

These are some cute little napkin rings that an artist friend made for me
years and years ago.

In case you are wondering... Yes I did use my melamine plates right
along with my everyday china.

I put the cutlery through the napkin rings instead of the napkins...

Table Top Tuesday

Today I am showing my Easter Tablescape. The theme was garden. I used my like new Verdi Green Imperial Glasses along with the Cobalt Imperial Glasses.
The pattern is called Old Williamsburg.

My mom gave me the green ones. She would buy them one a pay check. She thought they were soooooo expensive. .75 cents each. They are very heavy.....

These are our special guests.... Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny... my silly brother kept saying that he was going to unwrap them...nnnnnooooooooo....
their not really chocolate....

A little garden tool and a pot of silk African Violets....
of course with the formal silver candle sticks...

A carrot napkin ring...

Or.... an asparagus napkin ring.....

Bunnies and birdies abundant....

I thought that the Spode Copeland Buttercup was perfect for this garden setting...
and the burlap tablecloth was just as appropriate.
