Views worth mentioning...

Hi Lovelies....

I'm a pretty lucky girl! I get to come home everyday for lunch. Today, as I look out at my back yard, I see balmy, palm trees, warm, sunshine and crisp, cool breezes. Sorry, I'm not trying to torture you, but it is the reason folks move here every year. Everyday this week I have been working (one yummy bowl at a time) on a pot of Beef Bourguignon that I made Sunday for dinner.  It is a little more work than making regular beef stew... but ooooooh! so worth it. It has seriously gotten better everyday. I linked the recipe for you from The Food Network. This is the recipe that I used.

I also have finished another crochet project... I'll show you that later.....

Any way, I hope you are having a fabulous Friday!

Do you have a big weekend planned?

Instagram and Casper Fry

Well, Howdy!

I'm back from Spokane. Had a lovely visit with Sweet Daughter.
It was a super, fun,  quick trip.
Sad to say ... the Cannon broke down. Constant Communication Error.
Sigh...the story of my life!
So while the cannon is in the shop... we'll just have to get by with the iPhone.
Sorry!
Daughter gave me a quick coaching session on Instagram and here you have it.
If you haven't tried it yet... it is fun!
Instagram allows you to edit your photo and then post it directly from your phone
to your Facebook page.
This is a picture that I shared on Facebook.

We had lunch at this darling little place called Casper Fry.

It's kind of a new joint in downtown Spokane. They specialize in southern comfort food.
Can you tell by the picture???...the servers wear denim Dickies and plaid shirts with either a tie or bow tie and work aprons.

Real vintage silverware!

That is the most amazing burger that I have ever had... and yes! That is a pile of homemade pimento cheese on top! Delish! Hands down the BEST garlic fries I have EVER had!

Dessert?
Well, peanut butter and banana pie in a mason jar, of course.
Sprinkled with an amazing brown sugar crumble, peanuts and drizzled with caramel.
Oh, I was in heaven!

The decor was sort of a vintage, southern, industrial chic... not sure what it really would be called.  We thought that the chairs had come from an old factory... but we asked and they really were just from Restoration Hardware. They could have lied and it would have been a great story.

Edison bulbs everywhere!

And of course my true, test for any fine restaurant ... COFFEE!
And they did not fail! It was good and it was served in a decent sized cup!
So 2 thumbs up for Casper Fry in Downtown Spokane.
If I'd a had more thumbs it-a-been more thumbs up!

I do have a few other pictures that I took with the cannon before it quit. I'll be sharing those too.

Well, bye for now!

Beans and Wee Knees

Alright! Alright! Beans and Franks! But I'm weird and I make up nicknames for everything and everyone. It's a bad habit, but I enjoy it. ANY WHO! My husband's very favorite thing that I make is Beans and Franks. I don't know if this is good or bad. But this is a comfort food that he loves so I make it for him just about once every other week. He's an easy man to please!

Ingredients
1. One large can of your favorite baked beans
2. One small can of roasted green chillies
3. One Tblsp of Dijon Mustard
4. Apx 1/4 of maple syrup
5. One package Beef Franks (low fat or turkey dogs are not the same, per my husband)

This is the wee knee part.... I slice them and broil them on a foil lined pan until they are slightly crispy....

While the franks are broiling, I put the rest of the ingredients in a casserole dish and stir.

Once the franks are done stir them
in to the casserole.

Bake until bubbly...

Serve it up and eat it in front of the TV. Because that's perfectly white trash! LOL!

I have to admit that I always have to at least taste this dish. I don't make a meal of it because this is how I got fat. Comfort Food! But this really is an inexpensive, easy and tasty dish for a week night.
