New and Improved! or Room for a Bigger TV!

Oh! Hello There!
Really, so very glad your here!
I'm pretty excited to show you our new cabinet.
Black, French Country-ish and HUGE!
I LOVE it!
This is one of the few pieces of furniture that Hubs and I shopped for and
purchased together. We got it at the Potato Barn.  Funny name GREAT furniture!
 So many decorating possibilities.
LOOK! My oversized Blue and White tea cups look like the were made for this shelf. :)

Can you imagine ... in a week or 2?
Full of evergreens and hmmmm ????
Let me think. :)

Hubs didn't feature all the nooks and crannies .... DECORATED.
He thought that it would be full of books and DVDs.

 I said no no no....

THAT'S WHAT THE BOTTEM IS FOR!
Silly boys!

Have a good evening!

Winter Tablescape with Super Easy Cameo Napkin Rings

So I had this idea. I wanted a very romantic table using lace, wood, burlap and cameos!

The whole table just kind of came together. I mostly used items that
I already had.

The exception being the napkin rings and the wood chargers.

The napkin rings I made and the wood chargers I picked up Saturday.
I only picked up 4...but now I think I want to go get the rest of them.
I love layers...

So here's how I made my little napkin rings.

This is so simple... The pictures really explain it all.

Cut your TP roll in half... 2 and 1/4 inches.

A serrated knife works best. It won't tare up our roll.

 This burlap ribbon is awesome.
It already had the lace on it and it has the wire to make it fold-able.

Generously glue the folded edge and use your clothes pins to hold in place.

Now do the same thing with your velvet ribbon.

I held these in place with the clothes pins too. The velvet ribbon is
a little bit harder to work with.
Use your hot glue gun to glue on your cameo.
I got my cameos at HL on sale.
And there you have it!
I told you it was easy! :)
The possibilities are endless, I tell ya!

Quiet Signs of Kindness

I know that there are parts of the blog-i-sphere that are not kind.
But that is not my experience.
I have only seen encouragement, friendship and support.

All I know is that you all mean the world to me!
 ~
Thank you so much for all your kind words.

Soup of the Day - Artichoke Sausage Soup

It is finally time for soup!
The weather has finally broken and soup actually sounds good.
Here is a simple and hearty fall soup.

Artichoke Sausage Soup

  • 24oz. Italian Sausage
  • 2 28oz. Artichokes hearts, drained
  • 6 14oz. cans of Italian plum tomatoes ( I used diced Italian seasoned tomatoes)
  • 2 pkg onion soup mix
  • 6 to 8 cups water
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1tsp. basil

Crumble sausage into pieces in soup pot; brown and drain excess fat. Dice artichoke hearts and tomatoes, add to meat. Add remaining ingredients, heat through. Makes approx. 8-10 servings.

Here is my advice... make it the night before. It is better the next day. Keep some in the fridge and freeze some too. We really like this soup a lot.

A Simple Fall Table

We actually had some folks over for dinner a few weeks ago and I got a chance to use my
new Spode Jumbo Tea Cups.

The centerpiece was my 3 tier server full of acorns and mini pumpkins.
With 2 little lanterns on either side.

Simple!

Perfect for soup!

I had been eying these sweet little numbers for a while,
but thought they were a little extravagant...

My husband is really good about sending me an Amazon gift card
every now and then.... I had been saving them up and
finally decided that it was time to spend them!
 So glad I did. :)

 Happy Fall!
