Seeking Inspiration....In All The Same Places

Every year, after the Christmas Cards are signed and mailed, the biggest part of the Christmas list is finished, and most of the decorating is done (I said most) I make time for my old friends.

We sit down together with a cup of Cocoa, making sure the tree is lit and there is either a Christmas movie on or at least some Christmas music on in the back ground and we start reminiscing. They remind me of all their best ideas.

Home Companion is still a favorite!

These are from the 90's. When I looked the advertising there were no web sites.

GASP!

Well I'm going to finish what I started here.

I hope you are taking time to enjoy your friends and family.
They are the best part of the gathering!

Oh, it is so refreshing to find someone else to loves to spend time reading and re-reading her old issue magazines. I know mine are treasures and each time I thumb through one I seem to find something else I missed. Real gems...

I have a hard time tossing out magazines but love to find someone to give them to. I am so behind on reading my magazines, they WILL be old by the time I get to them!!

HI!!!
I only save maybe MY absolute favorite magazines!!! I do not know why I just do not save them. But I do agree about taking the time to enjoy the season with friends and family and YOURSELF!!!! My hubby spoiled me with a facial last Friday before our big party and I must say it was a dose of heaven!!!! Some times we need to be forced to lie still uninterupted for an hour!!!!
enjoy your great magazines!!!
hugs,
jamie

I love you blog! I miss the Home Companion mag. I wrote to Mary Engelbreit herself and told her how sad I was. Merry Christmas and keep up the good work with your fabu blog. :)

I do the very same thing, Home Companion, Victoria, Country Living & Country Home, Victorian Country. I love looking at all of the neat ideas people have and all of the good recipes. I actually do this all year long but the Christmas ones are the best! Thanks for sharing.

Liz,
Oh your pic looks like heaven to me. That is REALLY one of my top 5 fav things to do. Sit with a warm drink, movie on tv and read those great Christmas issues. It's so sad they are no longer here. Country Home last year was wonderful! Lisa

I have a terrible time getting rid of my magazines...and those I have let go of...I wish I still had. I have them in every single room of my home..in my bathrooms in my nightstand on the patio...

Liz, yesterday I took out my scrapbooking box in search of some Christmas paper. Inside of that box I found some wonderful Home Companion magazines that I had stashed in there for the inspiration. (Haven't scrapbooked in 7 or 8 years) I was so excited to revisit them!
