What did you do this Weekend?

Hello my Lovelies!
Did you have a fabulous weekend?
I do hope so!

I got a lot done in my super fast 2 days.

I've joined a group of ladies that are doing crochet and various other forms of needle work. This has been a great move on my part!  It is so fun to learn from them and all their years of experience.

AND here's the best part. It isn't just all fun and crafts. ....Okay. Really it is!
But we are making beanies for the homeless. I have finished 9 myself.
We are trying to get 136 of them done to go into Shoebox Ministry gifts at Christmas time.

I am learning how to read a pattern and a new stitch. This is a good close up of it.
It is the alternating front post / back post stitch.

This has been an excellant way to use up all of the extra yarn that is sitting around.
I love it when things turn out to be FUN and INTENTIONAL!

I did get a little bored and thought I would try a new thing.
I made this pot holder. My mom's new kitchen is red and white so it will fit in perfectly.

I also got this drawer cleaned out. I know that doesn't sound like much, but I've committed to clearing out something EVERY weekend. I have not done it every weekend, but I have done quite a bit.
Including 2 big book cases and all 4 of the cabinets under the sinks (kitchen and bathroom).

Need to go thru the shoes.... ugh!
Such an exciting life we lead... sigh... such are the troubles of a first world citizen. :)

What are you working on?

Great job on the beanies! I've been on a crochet frenzy myself and making all kinds of goodies I'd have never made before. Love the dishcloth.

Hi Liz,

How kind and considerate to crochet these beautiful hats for the homeless. I wish you and your team the best in meeting your mark!

The dishcloth is darling and the cup complements it perfectly!! How adorable is this post today?!

Have a happy week!

Your new beanie project is awesome! You will really be helping people. :)

I just went through my closet and removed a big trash bag full of great clothes that I wore when I worked. Donating them this week.

One drawer is a lot! That's great. Small steps add up.

That is such a very cool project to donate! I love it. I also love what I think I'm seeing in that picture with the dishes...is that a French Press Coffee Maker?? vintage? where did you ever find something like that? I just learned to make coffee using this and I love it. Not really a coffee drinker but for those days I want one, I can now make it at home. I've been looking for a much prettier one and that one is gorgeous!

What a great cause and enjoying yourself in the process. I love a good clean out too. I have been doing that for a few months off and on too.
I have had a very busy few weeks sewing a Christening outfit for an order. All finished now and I'm sewing little smocked baby dresses to sell on Ebay and in my Etsy shop. Glad you enjoyed your weekend,I did too. :)

What a wonderfully kind and selfless project, Liz. Your beanies are lovely and are sure to be appreciated. (And I love that red and white pot-holder you made, too!) I've been spending the last few months cleaning as well, trying to clear out my attic and cellar. As you said, even one drawer is an accomplishment! Take care and have a lovely week.
