Snow Balls In the Desert

Working on a fun little craft project.

Who doesn't like a project that you can finish in
a single afternoon?

How about simple pom pom garland?
I am currently (like as I finish this post) working on one for the
entertainment unit. But I finished this one earlier this week and
thought I would share it with you.

I got my inspiration from Miss Mustard Seed
Love her style.

The stars are from Target. The pom pom garland is
really the only different thing that I did this year.

I do love it.
Kinda looks like snow balls in the desert.

The stars are a tiny bit glimmery, but still pretty primitive.

Same centerpiece.

Anyway... let me know if you make the little garland.
Its totally fun and easy.

Merry Christmas!

It's almost the weekend. Are you so happy?
I am.

I've been working and working on my little beige afghan.
Isn't that the worst name?
I decided it should be called the Barista's Blanket.

Black Coffee
This was so obvious. Right?

Coffee with Cream
Are ya with me?
Are ya picking up what I'm laying down?

and finally the Latte' of course!
uh ....Duh!

Hopefully, Sunday I'll have more for you.
Enjoy your Friday!

Tea and a Chat...

Hello my lovelies!

Time for tea and a chat....

Join me?

I started a new afghan yesterday. It's a granny square with a little
puffy flower in the middle. The squares are small, so it's going to take
a while.

I'm a afraid you are going to get tired of brown and beige before the
thing is done. I might be too! :) But for now, I'm excited about it.

It is supposed to rain this weekend, so I'm hoping to get the house
cleaned up and all my chores done so that I work on this all weekend.
Maybe even put on old episodes of Downton Abbey or Mad Men.

Maybe have dinner in the crock pot?
Doesn't that sound homey?

What about you?
What will you be doing this weekend?

A Little Bitty Girl Bear! (easy knit)

Hey there!
I hope you are having a great week!

Just thought I would share with you my little bitty
girl bear that I made. I made a little boy version
previously. You can see that here.

I took some along-the-way pictures so you can see how
I figured it out. It is just a garter stitch with increases,
decreases, cast on and cast off maneuvers.

I can't really read a knitting or a crochet pattern.
So it has to be a pretty simple concept for me to get thru it.

As you can see, it is just one piece.
I knit one side and then when I get to the top of the head,
I just start the whole thing in reverse.

I'm so happy she turned out. My daughter
wants to give her to one of her friends for
a shower gift.

Isn't she cute?
I stood her up next to a coffee cup so you can
see how tall she is.

I mean, look at that face!

I'll be joining

Marty for Inspire Me Tuesday
Brenda for Tweak it Tuesday

A Fun Little Crochet Coin Purse

Hi ya!
Just popping in to show you this little project that I finished.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it.
But it sure is cute.

The written instructions that I used are here.
There is also a video that makes the project very easy.
That is here.

Love the vintage-esk clasp. They have a lovely variety at Hobby Lobby.

I love the little shells to.

Anyway! That's all I have for you today.
Have a great week!

Super Simple and Easy Fingerless Knit Gloves

Hello my Peeples! :)
I finished a little gift and I wanted to show you.
Because it is so simple that you can do it too!

I do love giving a little homemade gift. Especially when it is a quick finish project like this one.
Two of the girls that I sit with always complain about the cold in the office.
So I thought that these little wristers or fingerless gloves would be fun.

After watching about a hundred and ten (I exaggerate) videos on You Tube,
I finally came up with my own little simplified design. Perfect
for beginners or anyone that just feels like knitting something tonight.

You simply cast on 27 (small) or 29 (medium) stitches with 2 colors. Garter
stitch 5 rows. Drop one color and then stockinette stitch for about 4 inches or until
the fabric is the length you want. I just wanted something that would
not inhibit the keyboard, but still keep the hands warm.
Then add back in the second color and garter stitch for 2 more rows.
Cast off.

Fold your fabric in half, right sides together. Using a large needle stitch sides
together leaving about an inch and a half for the thumb hole.
Annnnnnd Done!

These should be snug and not loose.

I hope you try to make these!

Simply Crochet

"We are all apprentices in a craft where no
one ever becomes a master"
Ernest Hemingway

When I came across that quote, I knew I had to use it. It is so true!
We are all just on a journey, trying to hone our craft along the way.

I hope you have a crafty weekend. I'll see you on the other side.
