November's Fresh-Cut Friday

Hello!
&
 Welcome!

 It's time for Fresh-Cut Friday!
The rules are easy. Just share a link to a post that shows your flowers.
Add a link back to this post in your post.
That's it.

Old posts, new posts arrangements (fresh or faux) gardens, centerpieces are just a few ideas.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you have to share!

~*~

My little arrangement started out on the dining room table.
I liked it at first....

A very simple, tonal mix of carnations and roses.
But then... it just started looking like a big blob.

So, as I usually doooooo..... I moved it!

This is the divider between our living room and family room.
I got this little cabinet several years ago and it is full of little memories. :)

These little tins are some candy tins that I purchased when I was in London about a million years ago.
They are called Comfits.

Aren't they cute?

Okay! Now I can't wait to see your pretty posts!

Classy Pumpkin Painting

Saturday was a fun day.  I spent it with the lovely ladies of
You can see more about them here.
It was held at my friend Debi's house.
SOME DAY I'm going to do a whole photo shoot of just her gorgeous
home.

It was lunch and then a quick painting class.
There were so many fun ideas. Look at these sweet little dinner rolls.
How smart!
Of course what's a craft class without a cupcake station?

So at some point... the paint has to hit the pumpkin.

Every table had all the supplies needed.

 Such a fun afternoon!
Thanks Ladies!

P.S. Don't forget Fresh-Cut Friday
The party starts tomorrow night!

With a Cherry On Top!

Oh,  Gosh!

Sometimes I feel like my life is completely de-railed!
Honestly! The week has flown by.   Who am I kidding? The whole month is gone.
I went to a pumpkin painting class, a Harvest Brunch, had company in town and Sunday daughter and I went to our first bridal show!  Very busy! But VERY FUN!!!
(I know lots of exclamations!!!)

And with all that...
At some point last week I turned 51.
And shortly after that I got a piece of junk mail
offering me a Senior discount.... say whaaaaaaat?
Seriously?
Good thing I don't take that kind of thing to heart.  (much)

I also got de-railed on my next big project. I decided to start a baby blanket instead. I'm doing the Granny Ripple. (kind of sounds like a weird dance, huh?) It's not though.
It is a fun and quick moving stitch.
Oh! ooopsie! There's a peek at my Fresh-Cut Friday arrangement... :)

Don't forget to join in on Thursday night for Fresh-Cut Friday!

SO, that's it for now!
Have a great day!!

The Next Big "Thing" !

Just poppin' in to say "Hello"!

I actually have 2 "next big things".
I just got my new iPhone 5s.
I am learning the ins and outs of it.
*UGH*
Does your brain ever just get full up and say
" That's it! I'm not going to learn one more thing, until you
forget something else!

That's how I feel right now!
Having said that...
I took both of these pictures with my new phone.
I think I like it!

This is my second "next big thing"....
Can't wait to get started!

What did you do this Weekend?

Hello my Lovelies!
Did you have a fabulous weekend?
I do hope so!

I got a lot done in my super fast 2 days.

I've joined a group of ladies that are doing crochet and various other forms of needle work. This has been a great move on my part!  It is so fun to learn from them and all their years of experience.

AND here's the best part. It isn't just all fun and crafts. ....Okay. Really it is!
But we are making beanies for the homeless. I have finished 9 myself.
We are trying to get 136 of them done to go into Shoebox Ministry gifts at Christmas time.

I am learning how to read a pattern and a new stitch. This is a good close up of it.
It is the alternating front post / back post stitch.

This has been an excellant way to use up all of the extra yarn that is sitting around.
I love it when things turn out to be FUN and INTENTIONAL!

I did get a little bored and thought I would try a new thing.
I made this pot holder. My mom's new kitchen is red and white so it will fit in perfectly.

I also got this drawer cleaned out. I know that doesn't sound like much, but I've committed to clearing out something EVERY weekend. I have not done it every weekend, but I have done quite a bit.
Including 2 big book cases and all 4 of the cabinets under the sinks (kitchen and bathroom).

Need to go thru the shoes.... ugh!
Such an exciting life we lead... sigh... such are the troubles of a first world citizen. :)

What are you working on?

The Wisdom of Listening

I'm in a listening mode. Do you ever find yourself there?
I know that I inqure an awful lot of God, but do I spend enough time listening to Him?
His answers are always there if we are willing to listen.

Seeking wisdom instead of sharing it. It is a concept that I am still learning far into my
middle years.

WooT WOO!

I finished it!
I'm so happy. This was a really fun project.
I loved the colors... I loved how easy the whole
thing went together.
But what I REALLY LOVE is the feeling of finishing something!
Love it!

The whole point of this little throw was to use up some yarn.

Well, as most things go when you don't plan....
I ended up buying more yarn to finish it and still ended
up with tons of extra yarn left over! UGH!

I found this sweet little vintage, 70's style mug at Goodwill.

Look at that sweet vintage pillow. That will go with the afghan.
It doesn't match, but it goes.

So that's it. Daughter gets the mug, pillow and afghan.

On to the next project!
