A Bargain or 2...

Last weekend I spent some time in my favorite antique mall, The Brass Armadillo. I can spend a 2-hour-lunch hour in there very easily! I am really trying not to spend a lot of money so I was pretty pleased with my self for walking out with change from a $20.00.

Look at these sweet hand embroidered tea towels. I have more than a drawer full of tea towels but I just couldn't leave these behind.

Berries
And cherries!

Some darling little girl patterns. I'm feeling inspired by Jane's Apron!

These mugs were only $4.99 for all 4. I thought that was fair. Especially since I was at Goodwill the other day and they wanted $1.99 for a nasty, yucky, ugly, Christmas mug. I'm not sure what's going on there?!

Has anyone else experienced stick shock at Goodwill?

Oooh, what pretties you found!!! I love them all!! Change from a $20.00? My kind of thrifting!!! Way to go!! Our Goodwill is still pretty good, but I've heard tell of some in the "big city" that aren't that price friendly either.

Hi Liz, My goodwill doesn't have very many finds...I found a couple of cups that are cute and three glass saucers but not much else... the prices are a little expensive for what some of the stuff is... I like your towels, those are really pretty and the mugs are nice too....hugs, Jennifer

Awesome finds! I love the cups! We don't have a Goodwill here, boohoo! The embroidery reminds me of my MIL and I doing embroidery. :)

Liz,

It is just too cool to come home with change from a twenty!! Good for you!! I love everything... the tea towels are too cute. I am wondering how you use them, or like me, if you EVER use them!!! They are so pretty & delicate, I just can't bear to do anthing more than hoard them!!

Those pretty blue mugs look so cute hanging in your kitchen. Goodwill.. still haven't found one near me!

Love the Brass Armadillo!
I think that Goodwill has had a drop in donations due to the economy and people not getting rid of as much and yet they are still trying to keep up their Good work with various programs. Sooooo, price increase. Boo hoo!

You did good. I have seen things way over priced at the thrift stores here. One in particular that has a lot of jewelry.
