Garden Variety Rose

Well! Hello there.
Happy to see you.
I hope you are having a wonderful week!

So, I came home from work for lunch and got it into my head that I needed to
pick some of my roses. Almost all of them were full bloom. No buds. Isn't that
odd? I think it was because it was the middle of the day maybe...
Anyway, they made my day and I just couldn't pass the photo opportunity up.
Just thought I would share. :)

Fresh-Cut-Friday # 23 THE ROSE!

Hi Friends and Sweet Flower People!
Can you believe that it is already time for FCF again.
Well I can't lie! I love it that this months flower is the ROSE!
Look at this mess! I seriously need to take a class in composition.
Along with a photography class and a class for Photoshop!
I'm showing off my new Christie Repasy signed print.
Isn't It so pretty?

I love it! I hung it in my crap.. eh craft room.
These are the roses that I chose... As usual from Safeway.
My roses in the garden are really faded right now.  It's 108 for crying out loud!
My mother's pocket watch...

So, what do you think? Can you take a bad picture of a rose?
I don't think so!

So now I want to see all your pretty pictures.
Make sure you link back to this post and visit each other.
We usually don't have to many participate so it is pretty
easy to get around to see everyone.

Enjoy!

What Kind of Roses Are These?

When I went to the grocery store the other day, they had a dozen roses for $9.99. I don't usually buy myself roses, but these were so pretty! The buds are huge and the petals are ruffled. I had never seen any like them before. I would love to have these in my back yard.

Have a great day and don't forget to stop and smell the roses!

Pretty Vintage Type Fabric

I was in a local discount, discount, really discount fabric store locally and found this beautiful blue rose fabric. I wasn't going to buy it, but I just couldn't seem to get out of the store without it. My initial thought was that I would make a pretty table topper for a table scape. But then our new chairs came this week and I realized that the fabric would actually make beautiful pillows. The fabric matches perfectly. I will show you the chairs when I finish the pillows.

The best part is that the total cost for the pillows will be less than $20 bucks. The store actually sells their fabric by the pound. And the trim was only $1.99 a yard. I can't wait to work on them.

TA DAAAAA!!!!!

Yay! My Blog is here My Blog is here!
My sweet husband worked all morning with me (yes we ditched church) to get my page customized and " pretty-fide". Thanks Baby! He has a lot of talent and great ideas.
It took a lot of patience but I think we created a really pretty stop in the blog-i-sphere.

I'm a baby blogger and still learning... so we'll see what happens in the days, weeks, and
months to come.

How I Knew I Loved Cabbage Roses

When I moved into my current home I had the luxury for the first time of having a "Living Room" and a "Family Room". Decorating the family room was easy. Blue and White of course! It is right off of our Kitchen and all of my dishes are blue and white (Blue Danube).

But the challenge was deciding what I would do with my wonderful new Living Room! Well I found a great sofa and love seat at Levitz when they finally really did close. It had a great country look and was buttery yellow with soft pink and red cabbage roses on it. I couldn't pass it up. I purchased it and then using that as the inspiration I started collecting all of the "rose" items that I already had. When I finished I found that I had plenty to complete the room. Here are some pictures.

Some people have really cool comments.... Leave me a posting
