Heart of the Home Party!

Welcome to my Kozy Kountry Kitchen!

Wednesday the 13th is the Heart of the Home party at Shelia's blog NoteSongs. I will be joining her for all the fun tours. Make sure you head over and see all of the beautiful kitchens.

AND

Tuesday is always Table Top Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life.
Make sure you check all the lovely vignettes out. Lots of wonderful ideas.

No fancy, schmancy counter tops or appliances. Just simple.

See the backsplash? Looks like tile right? It's not... It is a faux finish... One of the things that I love about my little kitchen...
These cabinets are one of the things that sold me on the kitchen 7 years ago when I bought the home.
The house was built over 15 years ago and the kitchen definitely needs some updates, but I still love it the way it is. I know that some of the pros out there will say that there is to much on top of my cabinets ... but I have collected these family items over decades.

If I had all the money in the world what would I change?

I would have white cabinets and a mix of marble and wood counter tops. An apron skirt sink. That's it. Oh, maybe a little bigger foot print and more cabinet space.

I would still have all the clutter... I can't help it... I love it! It reminds me of all the wonderful cooks in my family. All the wonderful holidays and family dinners...
And YES! I would still have all white appliances! How OLD FASHION!

What's on the range? A big pot of Chili! Perfect for a cooler day.

I even keep a glass right by the sink. We still drink sink water every now and then (gasp!)

It is so true! Your kitchen really is the heart of the home. Make sure your kitchen reflects you more than a magazine or "style". Give it more heart than style.

Make sure you check out my giveaway for Fresh Cut Friday on November the 5th!

Good Morning Liz...Your kitchen is just perfect my friend..and I love white appliances as they never will go out of style..Girl I did the brown ones years ago and said then I would never fall into that trap again..I now only have white as you can add color but it's so expensive to get rid of appliances that don't match and white goes with everything..Did I tell you I hate stainless steel it reminds me of the school kitchen's ha ha!! I love the cookies jars..are they a man and women..they sure are fun...Thanks Liz for sharing your "Heat of the Home" Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria

I do love those glass door cabinets- those make my heart patter anytime I see some like that!

Liz, You have a wonderful kitchen, love the glass front cabinets, and if you had not told I would have never known that was not real tile.
Loved the way you have the plates on top of the cabinets, I have never tried placing them that way. Thanks for sharing your wonderful home.

Liz, I have to tell you, I love your kitchen. The cabinets in the house we are moving from (the original "My Cottage of Bliss" house) are the light wood like yours. My countertops are white and and I have white knobs on the doors and drawers. Even though we did the kitchen 15-18 years ago, I have never become tired of the look. Still love it as much today as I did when it was new. White appliances are an absolute MUST for me too. Other colors have come and gone through the years but white is CLASSIC and will always be around.

All of your beautiful accessories add to the cozy, homey feel. Your kitchen oozes endless charm and warmth.

THANKS!

Oh, I keep a glass by the sink too! It helps to remind me to drink water, and Chickie and I both use it interchangeably! And so convenient!
And what do the pros know??? They have no sentimentality. Your kitchen is lovely!

Hi Liz,
Your kitchen is just lovely, so warm and inviting. I love the shape too. I would love to join you for fresh cut Fridays but believe it or not am having kind of a hard time finding fresh cut flowers here in our itty bitty town in North Dakota. I know there is a florist and will have to check out that resource before I finally give up. It is a wonderfully fun idea though!

Our kitchens are very similar, even without the granite countertops, etc! ;-) I really like yours and don't think you have too much on top of your cabinets! I don't think I'll ever have anything other than white cabs and appliances (they are hard to keep clean tho!!)

I enjoyed browsing your older posts too!

P.S. - Our backsplash is also faux painting! My husband did it with masking tape and sponge painting. He also did the wide tone on tone stripes on the outside of the bar area (opposite side of the sink.)

I've also thought about getting an "island" but doubt my husband could handle it after all these years! LOL!

Hi Liz:

I LOVE your kitchen. First off, it's filled with blue and I just love blue, but moreover it's filled with love. All of your beautiful things show it. I'll never be one of those clear the decks people, but my family would probably enjoy a little less clutter. LOL!

Thanks for sharing the heart of your home.

Oh Liz, I love your kitchen, and I love your commentary. I soooo agree with you (you probably already knew that)! Your kitchen has personality - it's your personality - and it's wonderful! All of your extra touches make it so special. Love the thing holding flatware and plates (was it a tool box?). Love the basket with the pretty ribbon, holding your cook books. And just look at the wonderful display space on top of your cabinets. The plates look so pretty all lined up. laurie
