Tulips on Saturday

So ... on Wednesday I bought some lovely tulips at Safeway. Here it is Saturday
and I'm still loving having them on the dinning room table.
So happy that I bought two bunches!

As you can see all of Christmas is put away and we are in full gear
for the new year. I'm always sad to see it go. Christmas is my Favorite!

I'm not making any great New Year resolutions. I've thought about it, a lot,
and I'm just really wanting to be a better wife, mom, daughter and sister.
I don't exactly want to be so much thinner as more healthy.
I don't really want to read the bible in a year, but actually work on
my relationship with my Savior.
I think if I can accomplish that, I'll be happy!

I have a few projects that I am working on. Mostly small, easy, quick projects.
You know I love the easy stuff.
We have some HUGE projects to do on the house.
Paint (exterior)
Roof repair (hopefully not a new roof)

What about you?
Any big plans?

This.... Then That

This is what it was....

And now this is what it is!

I have a nasty habit of  "just running in to Goodwill" on my lunch hour.

Somedays, I seriously find nothing.
But then sometimes I find a little something so worth the stop.
This is what I found today.
A silver plate cake stand. Only $5.99.

I didn't even polish it! Just cleaned it up.

I added my little vignette and put a glass cover on it.

I'll be joining Marty for Inspire Me Tuesday.

A Girly Girl Weekend!

Such a VERY Fun weekend!
Saturday was a vintage themed birthday party for my sweet friend CeeKay from Thinking of Home
It was such a beautiful day and the company was superb!

You really need to see more! The decor was all of her  precious momentos.
Stop by and see her.
Make sure you wish her Happy Birthday!

Sunday... well that was a special day.

Wedding dress shopping.  Sigh....

It really has all the feel of a rite of passage.
So touching and sentimental.
I can't really even express what a joy it is to help
a beautiful young woman transition to the next part
of her life.

Sunday night we celebrated Valentine's Day at The Keg.
A yummy, medium priced steakhouse.

This is my 6oz steak....

 This is Husband's 20oz steak.
I just had to share that. I thought it was kind of funny.

So that is the weekend wrap up.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

 Oh! AND P.S.
Yes! There is a DRESS!

 Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Quick, Fun and Easy Centerpieces

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to help with a Fall Harvest Brunch.
The theme was to be hospitality and all its different forms.
So that included all different price ranges and budgets.

We had a lot of tables and as always a small budget and limited time frame.
So I fell back on one of my previous ideas that I had used at
Thanksgiving a couple of
years ago.
As with most things timing is everything. I was hoping to do fresh flowers, but Michale's had all the Autumn floral for 60% off and time was going to be short the day of the party.
So I opted for silks.
This is what the floor of my craft room looked like.
As always, I had the supervisory help
of my ever capable 3 legged kitty.... Midge.
Here are 6 cans that I did.
 Super fast
 Super simple!

Super cheap!

I'm joining Marty for Table Top Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life.

Sigh....

Good Evening Lovelies!
I can't believe it. Another weekend is coming to a close...
I always find that kind of sad.

I picked some of my overgrown herbs afternoon and stuck them in my little jug.
It smells wonderful. Plus, I can just snip some off if I need anything while
I'm cooking. This is Rosemary, Thyme, and some Oregano that has gone
to seed. One thing about herbs... they can get out of hand.  It's good to keep
them cut back and this is a good way to do it.

We got a lot done around here yesterday and today. Got all 6 of the palm trees
trimmed, hubs washed his truck, I got all the laundry caught up. Also got
the inside of the house cleaned and Hubs worked on cleaning and
organizing the garage.

So! Tomorrow it's back to work...
Wait! What? Isn't that what we just spent the last 2 days doing?

Something's not right here?!

Can you relate?

Anyway....

Have a wonderful Sunday evening!

HospitaliTEA

This morning was the annual Spring Luncheon and Tea at
North Phoenix Baptist Church.

This year's theme was hospitality. Our Pastor's sweet wife shared some of her experiences serving and living the life the "First Lady of the Church".  Isn't that a great title?
Anyway one of the things that she said really stuck with me.
"If nothing is going on, then make something happen."

This year we had 355 ladies. That's 36 tables!
All decorated to the hilt!

See those fellas in the black slacks and white shirts? Those are our deacons.
They always
serve the ladies and do a fantastic job!

It was a fun way to spend a Saturday.

Spring Flowers

These just make me happy!

Just some pretty flowers from our back yard. I couldn't resist.
The colors are so
vibrant.

I just couldn't decide where to put them....

This weekend is Easter Decorations! Clean the house and then play!

Happy Middle of the Week!

Remember.... Everyday is payday when you work on easy street!
