Hi Guys! Just finished The Soloist by Steve Lopez. I loved the book. A very easy read that really gives you a good, realistic idea of the work and frustration family and friends experience when a loved one is diagnosed with schizophrenia. The story depicts the efforts that Steve Lopez goes to to help Mr. Ayers. It also really brings to light the plight of the homeless and mentally ill in California. There is no happy ending here. Just the story. The book is much, MUCH better than the movie. As much as I love Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Fox, the movie falls far short of telling the story that Mr. Lopez tells so well in his novel.

Hi LIZ!!!!
Books are always o much better then the movie, the movies leave so much detail out and then they want to Hollywood it up for some!!!
It is so sad --mental illness, I will check that out!!!
