If you have followed Rose Vignettes for a while then you know I have
a BIG "thing" for Bibles!
a BIG "thing" for Bibles!
This one is my fav! I like it because it is a thumb index bible. So if I'm in Church or Bible Study I can find the scripture super fast.... It's a little like cheating. :)
Any hoo... This weekend I was inspired to make a couple of covers... Just for fun...
There were some beautiful examples in the recent edition of Somerset Life (LOVE!)

I wish my Bible had the thumb dividers. That would make it so much easier to find the scriptures. It seems that before I find the right page, the pastor has moved on to the next one. Your Bible covers are beautiful. I love the little bird on that cover. He is so cute. I have a thing for birds, and I think it is stronger now that we are waiting for spring to arive bringing them with it.
Your covers turned out so pretty! It is hard to find pretty Bible covers in the stores!
On my how very beautiful! What a beautiful way to protect your sweet Bible.

Oh Liz!
I love them both...but the blue one is my fave!
PS I made the laundry detergent! Can you believe it? Finally! LOL!
I love that. I keep thinking about covering my study Bible. It has a hard cover...and isn't very attractive. Now maybe I will!
What a wonderful idea! I'd love to make one. Maybe I'll try. I used to make covers for photo albums so it would probably be similar. Thanks for the inspiration!
Blessings,
Kathy
Ok I loved your covers so much and my poor bible is so worn (clean bible= dirty heart, dirty bible= clean heart) that I went out to buy the Sommerset magazine. It was at a Border's going out of business so I got it for 40% off. Now if I could just find the time to sew. :)
Thank you for stopping by and following my quilting blog. I am a follower of your blog too. And I have you on my side bar of the thrifting/tea blog

Liz, these are truly wonderful. I wonder if my rudimentary skills would be enough to whip up something similar. . . I carry a 5x7 size Bible in my purse, and the edges need some closure to protect the inside. Hmmmm. Beautiful inspiring project! Thanks for sharing!
Liz, these are beautiful! You are just so creative. I love the use of the hanky on one of them. laurie
