I Made a Handbag!

Hey! Look what I could do!

Patterns were on sale at JoAnn Fabrics last week. $1.99! That is soooo cheap! So I was tempted and actually fell victim to my own impulses. I have not REALLY sewn anything (like with a pattern) in about a million years. But I used to really enjoy it. So I thought I would give it good try.

I determined that if I kept it on the cheap I wouldn't feel bad if it didn't turn out the way I invisioned it in my head.
Imagination and reality sometimes don't translate.

Ya know what I mean!?
So I got all of my trim, fabric and notions at the fabric by the lb. store. I think I spent a total of about $13 smack- a- rolies. Not bad!

It turned out pretty cute! It's no Vera Bradley, but hey I'm no Vera Bradley either! And I got to make something.

I have a couple of other patterns that I bought that same day! Maybe....Mom will want one? What about Daughter? Would she want one?

We're off to spend the TAX REFUND! That will be a post. I promise!

Have an Awesome Awesome Weekend!

Great job!!! I adore it!! Aren't they fun to make? My niece got me addicted to bags and I'm always looking for tutorials to make one online. Yours is beautiful!!! Maybe I should break out my sewing machine again. ;) Have a wonderful Saturday!!

Liz!! This is amazing...I love it!! I love that you took a chance and did something that you had been wanting to do; I love that you didn't spend a fortune (but you'd never know it -- this looks expensive!) and I love the pattern you chose!! You've inspired me to try my hand at a few things I haven't taken up for years!!

How adorable - I really do like it, and you are a great seamstress! One that pretty in the stores would cost a small fortune.
I feel sure your Mother and Daughter would love one. :) I have not done any real sewing in years.

I absolutely LOVE it!!! I'd take a "Liz" over a "Vera" any day {and I love Vera Bradley!}. Make more and show them off. Definitely one for Mom & Daughter!
How could they not love one?!
