Hi everyone!
Are you ready for September's Flower of the Month?
It is the Aster.
With over 180 varieties, the Aster is one of the cutest and hardiest of the fall flowers. Aster is actually a Greek word and means star (referring to the star shaped flower head). In ancient times burning the leaves was thought to ward off evil serpents. In more modern times the Aster is known as a symbol for Love, Patience, Daintiness, and Elegance. Also it is the chosen flower for the 20th wedding anniversary.

That little truck is sooooo cute, especially filled with fresh flowers.
My asters are not blooming yet. I'm afraid it will be some time before they do. It's so hot here that I image everything will be slow to come into season.
Thanks for hosting. ~ Sarah
I love asters too! And that blue truck vase is adorable!!
Have a great day.

I can't link-up until Monday or Tuesday. We are going to South Alabama to batten down the hatches of our lake cabin before Tropical Storm Lee hits.
Sorry I will be late to the party (again)....

Asters are such beautiful flowers. For me, they are back to school flowers, as I remember giving these flowers to my teachers on the first day of school every school year.
Too bad I didn't have a post to join the party this month, I'll try next one.
Your flower decoration is lovely! Asters are one of my favorite fall flowers. Thank you for hosting this great link party.
Have a nice day!
I love this linky party, Liz. I am sorry that I am late again! I always learn so much from these parties, and I appreciate the research for them. Your little truck is so cute! I love it. The asters and truck make the cutest little vignette on your table. Thanks for hosting!
