Oh, do sit and have a cup of tea!
I am fast becoming a huge Jane Austen fan. I fall into her stories and the next thing you know the end is here. This month's reading for The Girlfriend's Bookclub was Persuasion. The tale of romance delayed and sweetened with time.
I loved it!
Also if you are not a big reader...Masterpiece Theater is airing Persuasion Sunday night. I recently watched Emma and Northanger Abbey. Both were so well done.
Here is a link to the PBS/Masterpiece Theater web site; and Jane Austens House Museum There is a slide show and a
biography for further reading.
Enjoy!

I've got my popcorn all ready for Sunday night!!!
Thanks for the tip, Liz. I have seen Emma. I know I have been under a rock, but I have never read a Jane Austen novel and feel a bit guilty about it. I bought Pride and Prejudice but have yet to start it. I hope it is a good place to start.

I have seen the movie and enjoyed it. I finished Pride and Prejudice a couple of months ago and was trying to decide on whether to bring Persuasion on my trip. Maybe I should, hum...
Valerie :)
I'm hearing good things about Jane Austin lately. I'll have to take a look on Amazon. Thanks Liz.

Oh how I love watching Masterpiece Theater! I just finished watching Emma, also. And have copies of Pride and Prejudice, and Emma (the one with Gwenyth Paltrow and the dreamy Jeremy Northam). I am reading Emma right now and just finished Sense and Sensability (borrowed from the library). I love reading Jane so much, I finally ordered a book with all her novels included. Now I can read whenever the mood strikes me. Cheers to Jane Austen!
