Why Does It Take Me So Long To Clean The House?

This is why:

This is the hallway in our home.....

I'm dusting.... The box is so pretty.... but it could be prettier....delay....

A doily... a vintage piece of linen.... but it still needs something else.....delay..... a tassel maybe?

A tassel is good but this one is to big.... I need find a tassel that will work.....delay....puts, puts, puts.....

Found the tassel....hmmm...puts,puts, puts .....delay.... what else does it need? Flowers! delay again.....

Arrange, Arrange, Arrange..... puts, puts, puts....

Done! I mean the vignette.... the Dusting?..... not so much! :)

I'm joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. Make sure you go by and see lots of other before and afters!

And join Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for Table Tops Galore!

Thanks Ladies!

  7. Me too...It also takes me a long time because I get side tracked by things I love and then forget what I was doing before. Sometimes it's a long string of projects that don't get finished.

  8. OH! I SO relate! It takes me FOREVER to dust, because I'm compelled to re-arrange everything in the process!
Glad to know there are others like me out there!! ;-)
    Looks beautiful, by the way!!
    Blessings!

  10. LOL! Hello Liz...thanks for stopping by to say Hi it was nice to 'meet' you. I know exactly why it takes you so long to do housework...I'm the same way!!! Sometimes things just need 'tweaking' don't you think? I love it. I've only seen the one post but I will check out more once I get this off. Has spring hit Arizona yet? The weatherman has said there is a chance we could get a bit of snow here in Kansas. I hope not...I'm sick of the white stuff. I hope you have a wonderful day and I hope you'll stop by to see me soon. Take care

  11. Liz, Your dusting problem is exactly the same one I have! One thing is for sure, the dust will wait until you get finished decorating...

  26. Ah yes, flowers, one needs flowers. PERFECT!

  27. Liz, I thought the reason we did the dusting was so we could have fun rearranging our treasures into new vignettes each time, am I wrong?
The litte box is gorgeous, the flowers were the final magic touch.

  41. Hi Liz...
Thank you for stopping by. Great is They Faithfulness is one of my daddy's favorite songs as well.

It takes me forever to clean house if anyone is home. That makes me nuts. I can do it in half the time if I'm home alone!

  42. Dusting...never goes away...especially in the desert southwest. I have lots of vignettes too (dust collectors)but that it the price we pay to have lovely objects around us. Thanks for stopping by and for your comment.

  44. Just beautiful!

I am so glad I found your site I have linked up, and I am now following you. Pop on over and see mine. I would love to hear from you.

It takes a long time to clean my house too. The same reason!

  45. It is so much more fun to play with vignettes than to dust. You sound just like me. Your box does look so pretty with all of your lovely additions to it. When something looks that pretty, a little dust doesn't matter. laurie

  46. Would you please come to my home and and help me dust...I mean arranged sweet & gorgeous vignettes?

  47. Love the little vignette you created here. Now the little box is a focal point of beauty! I do the same thing when I'm cleaning...I rearrange and add and take away, et cetera!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ah... but the dust will still be there when you are done ready for dusting. Inspiration is fleeting and must be caught while it is there! And it looks amazing (even with dust)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Great job even with the dust! :) I hate dusting I would much rather just play with all my stuff around the house.
