Roses ~George Eliot
You love the roses - so do I. I wish
The sky would rain down roses, as they rain
From off the shaken bush. Why will it not?
Then all the valley would be pink and white
And soft to tread on. They would fall as light
As feathers, smelling sweet: and it would be
Like sleeping and yet waking, all at once.

I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck.

Gorgeous! No roses yet in my neck of the woods so thank you for sharing yours.:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful rose! We will not have any roses in the garden here for awhile. I look forward to when they start to leaf out again and form their buds. How I love them!
ReplyDeleteHello Liz ~I've truly missed my visits, but little by little I'm catching up.
ReplyDeleteAlthough last month was difficult with our loses a new month has brought new hope.
I poured myself a cup of tea and read a spell through your posts...
I love roses, but my hubby is the one who has planted over 140 bushes in our yard.
I'm so excited to see spring blooms popping up. I look forward to applying the inspirational palette of colors into a few projects for decorating and gifts, with a little cooking in between.
Don't you love the aroma that fills the air during this season?
It's definitely invigorating.
Sweet wishes,
Sara
