The ZooKeeper's Wife

Arrrrhhhug! I've been so bad about giving you the reviews of our Book Club selections. I think maybe because they have been so uninspiring??? EEEk! That doesn't sound nice does it?!

The ZooKeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman

I was really looking forward t reading this. I usually love anything historical about the holocaust. Unfortunately this story was a little flat. I enjoyed it because it was a true story that I have never heard before. However, it lacked a lot of detail in the lives of the characters. Way to much detail about animal breeding and actual zookeeping.

In short, I would say that I generally wouldn't recommend this read. Not a bad book by any means... just not one of my all time favorites. As usual that's just my personal opinion.

I love a great book! Do you have a must read?

  1. I never EVEN heard of this book. That's how uninformed I am. I like light books and movies. Mitford anyone? LOL

  2. That is so sad. I bet you were thinking well anytime it is going to just get wonderful and inspiring, and then at the last page you thought, wow ... that was it? I absolutely hate it when that happens! I haven't had a lot of time for the longer books lately so have pretty much stuck with tea books and poetry. I have a few books that should be here on Friday that I look forward to.

  3. I've never seen or heard of this book either. I love Beverly Lewis and all of her books on the Amish. I also love any book on the Amish and a good mystery. I'm reading a good book now, murder mystery. Excellent.

  4. Hi Liz :)

I hate it when a book I've been looking forward to falls flat... ugh. I don't have anything to recommend except remodeling books LOL

    Have a great Mother's Day!
