Monday's Manicure ... Puttin' on the Glitz

Hello my sweet friends.
The last mani of the year!
Whooo hoooo!

We're going to go someplace really nice for dinner so I didn't
want anything to over-the-top.

Are you doing up your nails for the New Year?

Blue = Sinful Colors, Rain Storm
Gold = Ginger and Liz, Got My Groove Back
Glitter = OPI, When Monkeys Fly

Some things I'm looking forward to this year:
The start of Downton Abbey
The Series Finally of Madmen
Loosing 10 more pounds
Getting a few major repairs done to the house
Entertaining friends more
Possibly a family reunion in August
More knitting and crochet projects
More Manis
More reading
More time with Family

What about you?
Big plans for the new year?

I'm thinking about a word for the new year too.
I'll let you know.

I might not post again before the end of the year.
So I want to wish you a blessed and happy New Year,
with health and peace abounding.
I want to thank you for always stopping by to say hi
and to see what I'm up to.

One Last Homemade Christmas Gift.....

A scrap of this.... a bit of that....

There's still time....

One last gift.

Easy instructions are right here.

I have to say that the two ladies that I shared these with, LOVED them.
I think I'm going to have to make some for myself!

Merry Christmas!

Monday's Manicure...Oh! Christmas Tree

One last little Christmas fun mani.
I did this with my dotting tool....

And a small village. :)
And THAT, my friends is why I rarely get rid of a polish. :)

P.S. and by the way....

IT's ALMOST CHRISTMAS!

Scenes from Sunday Morning.... Happy Christmas-ness!

HO HO HO Helloooo! :)

Just sharing some of the Christmas love around our house.
You won't see any major themes or fresh ideas. LOL!
It's pretty much the same every year.

But you know what?
That's the way we like it.

I did buy matching stockings. We have a handsome new Son-in-Law
that we are so happy about!

I added the last piece of the Willow Tree Nativity scene. The Creche.
I can't believe how much I love this tradition. I re-read the Nativity story in Matthew,
Luke and John. If we couldn't have any Christmas at all, I would be happy just
putting out the Nativity.
This is Christmas to me.

I changed out the ribbon in the family room.... Unfortunately.... I couldn't find enough of it to
do all the decor. But I do like it on the pendant lights.

I was picking up some make up in Walgreens and went down the Christmas aisle.
I found this cute little decorative street clock....

Perfect for my little sleigh scene.

I used my Nikko Happy Holiday dishes instead of my Nutcracker
dishes from World Market. Still love them all these years later.

And that is pretty much it.... Everything else is the same.

No snow.... Just warm hearts full of love and good cheer!
Merry Christmas!

Super Simple and Easy Fingerless Knit Gloves

Hello my Peeples! :)
I finished a little gift and I wanted to show you.
Because it is so simple that you can do it too!

I do love giving a little homemade gift. Especially when it is a quick finish project like this one.
Two of the girls that I sit with always complain about the cold in the office.
So I thought that these little wristers or fingerless gloves would be fun.

After watching about a hundred and ten (I exaggerate) videos on You Tube,
I finally came up with my own little simplified design. Perfect
for beginners or anyone that just feels like knitting something tonight.

You simply cast on 27 (small) or 29 (medium) stitches with 2 colors. Garter
stitch 5 rows. Drop one color and then stockinette stitch for about 4 inches or until
the fabric is the length you want. I just wanted something that would
not inhibit the keyboard, but still keep the hands warm.
Then add back in the second color and garter stitch for 2 more rows.
Cast off.

Fold your fabric in half, right sides together. Using a large needle stitch sides
together leaving about an inch and a half for the thumb hole.
Annnnnnd Done!

These should be snug and not loose.

I hope you try to make these!

Monday's Manicure.... Red and Gold Chevron

Hey hey hey! :)
Hello!

Today's holiday mani is a fun red and gold chevron.

Perfect for fun holiday parties.

Gold - Got My Groove Back by Ginger and Liz
LOVE this gold foil! I had never tried the brand and got it on sale last year after Christmas.
So glad I did!
Red - Spellbound Glitter by Sparitual
An awesome red glitter.

How did I get those nice clean lines?
Painters tape and pinking shears.
I got the inspiration from Pinterest and thought "I need to try that."
 It actually worked!
I love Pinterest!

Monday's Manicure

Hi Friends!
Tonight I'm sharing
the first of my Christmas manies!
This one is a combo of 2 colors.

Essie - Sable Collar
2 base coats

Essie - Shine of the Times
2 top coats

I love Shine of the Times! It is probably my favorite glitter. It color changes in the light and
has an iridescent quality. It adds holiday to any color you have on.
You'll probably see me use it again before the holidays are over.

Are you having fun?

It's about to get a little Christmassy up in here!

Hello my friends!
Did you miss me? I missed you!

I think that life is finally getting back to "normal" around here (whatever that is).
The wedding is over, however, our garage is full of wedding stuff. And it will
probably stay that way for at least a couple more weeks.
The wedding was wonderful. I can't wait to show the pictures.
The photographer said that they won't be ready until the 15th!
Ugh! Oh! The waiting!
Here's the sad thing... I didn't take ANY pictures. I was so busy being
the Mother-of-the-Bride, that I just didn't bother.

The house is decorated and most of the presents have been "acquired".
It's just a matter of getting them wrapped and under the tree.
I'm debating on doing cards....
Yes?
No?
What do you think?

At any rate... I do so hope you are enjoying the holidays and not just surviving them.
