Its A Sign!

Do you ever just feel like making something? I do. I was browsing around the Walmart craft department and saw this little oval plaque for .99 cents.
So I brought it home.

I went through my scrapbook paper and stickers... you know the stuff that is leftover...
and I came up with an idea.

I made a sign.... for the pantry!
Not bad for .99 cents...
I love it when I can use my leftovers!
I hope you are having a great Easter Week! Hubs and I will be doing some different things this year. We are going to be fasting from Good Friday (sunset) to Easter Sunday Morning (sunrise). Our hope is to glorify the Lord and just praise Him for what He has done for us. I will tell you how it goes. We've never fasted before so I am expecting a great blessing!

A Simple Little Project

Saturday I will be attending a little luncheon for Arizona Bloggers .
I am so looking forward to seeing all these wonderful ladies again.

I wanted to make a little something for everyone to take home
and this is what I came up with.

Sweet Hubs invested his time in creating the image for me and the
frames were in the $1 section at Michael's.

I hope they like them! I had fun creating these little favors.

The Last Sin Eater

This was this months Book Club reading. It was one of those books that you sit down and start reading and you just can't put it down. It has a wonderful Christian message and the plan of salvation is clearly explained. I would highly recommend this one!

Next month is The Soloist.... by Steve Lopez..... Join in if you want or let me know if you did read it and if you liked it...... I always appreciate your input!!

Pudding in a Cloud!

Did you ever make this when you were young? Oh my goodness I did!
I had forgotten all about it until one day I was at
Becky's blog, Sweet Cottage Dreams and she was making her
Nanny's yummy, for real, totally homemade, from scratch recipe.

Well it just looked so wonderful and it reminded me of making this
when I was a young mom.

Talk about a quick fix! This will do it for you!

Just line a pretty desert dish with whipped cream and
pour your jello in the middle.

DONE!

Enjoy!

I'm a Little Sad...

From E!online

"The King of the Wild Frontier is gone.

Fess Parker, the strapping star who played Davy Crockett in the hugely popular Disney Television show of the 1950s, died today of natural causes at age 85, his family announced.

The actor, whose classic roles also included the son-consoling dad in Old Yeller and another 'coonskin-cap-favoring frontiersman in NBC's Daniel Boone, had retired from showbiz in the 1970s and founded a hugely successful winery and resort in Santa Barbara.

He was 85."

I'm a little sad... I actually got to meet Mr. Parker when I was a little girl.
I was about 7 and I just thought he was the nicest and tallest man I had ever met. My brother had an official "coonskin cap". It was one of the few TV show's that he and I agreed on.
Daniel Boone.

Does anyone else remember this show?

Tabeltop Tuesday .... Bring on the Spring!

Just showing off my spring... The weather here in Phoenix is incredible!
Sorry just had to throw that in.
Someone gave me a Pottery Barn gift certificate and I have been waiting to spend it. They have the most adorable spring things in. I ended up only getting a wooden cheese slab. Its what the
plates and cloche are sitting on. I just thought that I had to have it!

Yup! There's my cigar box... okay not my CIGAR box.... just my empty cigar box. I just love them. The boxes, not the cigars. I think that they have so much beautiful detail to them. I have tons of them left over from back a few years ago when it was the thing to make purses out of them. I had made a bunch and sold them in a shop over in Old Glendale.

A fat little bunny makes a spring table top complete!

Oh by the way...
I got my square burlap tablecloth done last weekend when it was raining.
YAY!

Make sure you zip over to Marty's place. Lots of prettiness!
Thank you Marty!

Black and Blue!

This is the little blue shelf that I got at Gooseberries the day of the
Arizona Bloggers lunch back in October.

It was a perfect little nook for more nic nacks! : )

A spot for a vintage tea towel....

It's the perfect size and shape for this little wall...
But the light blue just wasn't doing anything for me.

So I painted it black. I thought that it really made the blue pop.
But it was also kind of like 3 black holes.

So using a piece of double sided tape, I lined the back of the shelf.
What do you think?

Before.....

After....

Before....

After...

I'm thinking that at Christmas I could put Christmas paper in there
and of course Christmas dishes.

And YES! That is faux foliage on top!
HA HA HA! I'm such a rebel.

7 of 101 Things To Do With a Cake Mix

Cherry Chip Squares
  • 1 cherry chip cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup oil

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl, mix cake mix, eggs, and oil together. Mixture will be stiff.
Spread the mixture evenly into a greased 9x13-inch pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for 13-17 minutes, or until lightly brown on top.
Serve warm or at room temperature.
I have to tell ya..... these were not really that good. Too sweet. But then maybe I'm not a Cherry Chip kind of girl. Perhaps with a scoop of ice cream???? I'm just saying....

Also I wanted to make sure that everyone knows about the Arizona Bloggers Luncheon that is coming up. Make sure you click on the button at the top of my side bar. It will be so fun to see everyone again.
